Why was LoneStar Laser Clinic created?
Laser technology has improved tremendously in the last decade. Currently, laser tattoo removal is not only possible, but in the right hands and with the correct laser, it can be done so affordably and without significant risk of scarring. However, we have found that a lot of patients have not had positive experiences with laser tattoo removal for the following reasons.
First, most patients searching for a clinic to perform laser tattoo removal could not find a clinic that specialized in tattoo removal. The majority of the clinics they had found, only seemed to perform laser tattoo removal occasionally, and listed tattoo removal at the end of an extensive list of other dermatologic procedures.
Second, a lot of the patients that finally decided on treatment had poor results, like scarring or incomplete tattoo removal, because they were treated with lasers designed for other dermatologic procedures. And finally, patients found that they had to pay a minimum of $250 per treatment regardless of the size of their tattoo - even a tattoo the size of a dime could cost them thousands of dollars to remove.

Martha Livermore, LSO, CLS, LMA
Martha Livermore, has over 18 years of medical and 5 years of tattoo removal experience. She received her Certified Laser Specialist and Certified Laser Safety Officer certification at the prestigious Rocky Mountain Laser College in Denver, CO.
Iris Lopez CLS, Aesthetician
Iris Lopez, has 4 years of Cosmotology and Skin Aesthetics experience. She is a licenced instructor in Cosmotology, is a certified Medical Aesthetician and has over 3 years of Laser Tattoo Removal experience. Iris also received her Certified Laser Specialist certification from the Rocky Mountain Laser College. Iris is our specialist in Austin and Houston, TX.
Lori Curelea RN, CLS, LSO
Lori joined our team in the summer of 2009. She is a practicing Registered Nurse, a Certified Laser Specialist, and a Laser Safety Officer. She has a Biology degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently enrolled in graduate school there to be a Nurse Practitioner.
Joy Meyer CLS, LSO
We are very excited to welcome yet another Certified Laser Specialist - Joy Meyer. She has her certification from Rocky Mountain Laser College and is highly recommended by the Owner of the College, Mr. Lorenzo and brings over 2 years of experience. We are very excited to have Joy join our team.
About our Medical Director
Duke P. Vu MD, PA
Dr. Duke P. Vu is the Medical Director of LoneStar Laser Clinic in Austin, San Antonio and Houston, TX. After receiving his B.A. in Biology at Baylor University, he went on to receive his Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from The University of Texas at Houston Medical School. Dr. Vu went through three years of residency training in Family Medicine at Conroe Regional Medical Center. He has taken care of patients from all age groups and from all walks of life including having taken care of pregnant women, delivered more than 60 babies, treated common medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and comforted many dying patients. During Dr. Vu's second year of residency training, he developed a special interest in Medical Aesthetics which included Laser Cosmetics and Tattoo Removal. Dr. Vu has recently opened his own Medi-Spa practice, Dermalase Medical Spa, in Houston, TX.
He has been chosen to be LoneStar Laser Clinic's Medical Director for his remarkable knowledge in laser technology, clinical applications, management of complications, and applicable laws and regulations. One of his main services to the clinic is personally reviewing each new patient's profile and review plans for each treatment provided by the clinic.
