How many treatments will it take to remove my tattoo?
Unfortunately, it is difficult to predict exactly how many treatments it will take to work. To see complete results, it could take as little as 3 treatments for an amateur tattoo or as many as 5 to 8 treatments for a professionally applied tattoo. Certain pigments are easier to remove, with florescent colors being the least responsive to treatment. The type of ink used may also affect the results, since some inks create a paradoxical reaction, causing the skin to become darker instead of lighter. Our staff can advise you on what to expect based on your particular tattoo.
How far apart are the treatments?
After your first treatment, you will typically schedule each additional treatment 4-8 weeks apart.
What will my skin look like after each treatment?
Your skin will be red and feel like it has mild sunburn. There may also be some bruising. With certain colors, such as red, there may be mild blistering that usually heals in about a week. The sunburn feeling typically goes away after a couple of hours, but your skin does need time to heal in between treatments. After each treatment you will be given detailed instructions on how to care for your treated area.

Does it leave scars?
The RevLite and MedLite Lasers, used at LoneStar Laser Clinic, leaves virtually no scars, however, those with scarring disorders, such as keloids, may have an increased risk of forming a scar. To reduce the risks involved in this procedure, carefully follow all of our instructions, both before and after the procedures.
Will the laser tattoo removal hurt?
When asked if laser treatment hurts, patients who have gone through the procedure vary in their responses. Some say it hurts, but most say it is not that bad. Before, during and after each of your treatments, the laser technician will use the Cryo 5 chilling devise that blows very cold air on the tattoo to help to numb the area. However, you will still feel the laser on your skin when your tattoo is being removed. Patients have reported that the feeling can be compared to a rubber band snapping on your skin.

How long will my appointment take?
Your appointment should not take more than one hour. The time it takes for the actual laser tattoo removal is very quick, but we also need to account for time to fill out paperwork and provide you with a free consultation.
Who will do my laser tattoo removal?
The laser tattoo removal will be performed by a licensed laser technician who is trained and certified to do this type of procedure. Our Medical Director will review and maintain all patient files. If complications arise, our MD will be available to consult with.
